Community support receives high level recognition
- Balikpapan Support Facility (BSF) in Indonesia has received the East Kalimantan Education Award for its continued contribution to education in the community
- Programs have included the donation of 800 computers to regional schools, road safety information days and educational scholarships

Our Balikpapan Support Facility (BSF) in Indonesia has received the East Kalimantan Education Award for its continued contribution to education in the community.
The independently-judged award program recognises organisations and city leaders who support the development of education in the province. The award, in the category of Best Company in Education Support, is a significant milestone and achievement for the tireless Balikpapan team.
Members received the award, presented by the East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek, at a special ceremony on 29 January 2011. The team at BSF delivers a broad range of education initiatives, including voluntary teaching, teacher skills development, assistance to schools via donations of books and computers, and the creation of a new English Language Lab at the SDN 005 Elementary School.
The BSF also hosts the widely acclaimed Thiess Apprenticeship Program – another significant contribution to the education and development of the community.
