The $950 million redevelopment of Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital site includes a $721 million new hospital and community health building to be delivered by Thiess as part of the InfraShore consortium. The contract involves the financing, design, construction, operation (with the exception of the provision of clinical services) and maintenance of the facility for a period of 28 years.
This public private partnership has enabled architects and planners to draw on the best ideas from around the world and deliver an expandable design that can grow and change in response to healthcare needs.
The designs for the new buildings will create an integrated hospital campus. They promise ease of access for patients, families and visitors while supporting effective patient flow and minimising travel times.
We have a carefully planned consultation program and construction phase that will minimise disruption to hospital functions. We are working with hospital staff and the community to get the job done right.
