Our Structure
Our lean and flexible structure allows us to work across the construction, mining and services spectrum, and respond to market and client needs early in the lifecycle of a project. Our various business units within each of these sectors are responsible for delivering our strategy across the widespread geographic areas in which we operate.
Thiess is governed by a Board of Directors and steered by an Executive Management Team which sets our overall strategic direction.
We are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leighton Holdings Limited (LHL), one of the largest contracting groups in the world. Within this group we have a high level of autonomy and responsibility, developing our own markets and client relationships.
Joint Ventures and Partners
Thiess is a significant shareholder in a number of respected companies including:
- Sedgman – a leading provider of minerals processing and associated infrastructure solutions to the global resources industry
- Kentz E&C – Kentz is a global specialist engineering solutions provider with more than 10,000 employees operating in 26 countries worldwide
- Silcar – jointly owned by Siemens Limited and Thiess Services Pty Limited, Silcar’s services include asset management, design, construction, operations and maintenance, with operations across a range of industries and essential services including power generation, electrical distribution, manufacturing, mining and telecommunications
- Marine and Civil – a Perth-based firm which specialises in marine infrastructure construction and related civil engineering projects including wharves, marinas, jetties, slipways, fixed navigation aids, bridge piling and foundation works
