Recruitment process
As a graduate, you may progress through various stages in the recruitment and selection process. This process may vary slightly depending on the discipline and the area of our business.
-
Your application will be acknowledged by email. Note that incomplete applications may not be considered.
- If you progress to the next stage, we'll conduct a 15-20 minute phone interview with you. We'll go over a few assessment and timing details and learn a little more about you...
- You may then be invited to attend one or more structured behavioural interviews, which can take up to one hour each. Before your interview, we'll talk to you about your interviewers, the interview process and location, and any special needs you have.
In the interview itself, you'll be asked for examples that demonstrate your knowledge, skills and experiences. This is also a great chance for you to find out more about Thiess and the potential role.
- For some roles, further assessment such as psychometric testing (e.g. ability tests) or pre-employment medicals may be necessary. We'll let you know more at the interview stage, and feel free to talk to the recruiter if you're unclear about anything.
- The next step is checking references you've provided in your application. Professional referees will usually be previous supervisors or managers who've observed your abilities in the work environment. Please let us know if they may be contacted.
- If successful, you will be made a verbal offer explaining in detail the package being offered.
- If you verbally accept the offer, you'll receive a formal letter of appointment. This is to be signed and returned to us to confirm your employment.
